Carissa Rodgers is a native of Little Rock, AR and a 2010 graduate of Philander Smith College. She also holds a Master of Divinity degree from the Perkins School of Theology at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, TX. 

Carissa has always had a deep desire for authentic living balanced with truth and justice, transformative learning and creative solutions for creating the life we desire. She began organizing as a student at Philander, initiating the organizing of three buses of students to rally for the Jena 6. She presently lives into her passion through teaching as an adjunct instructor at Philander Smith College Online in the Humanities division, the same place she got her start. 

A former pastor, she has taken her ministry to the streets, organizing in various places and gifting her time to disenfranchised youth. She is also the curator of REVthebrand, a transformation education and coaching practice, whose mission is helping clients grow into the best version of who they are. REV is an acronym meaning Redefining Everyday Values that also houses REVBeads which focuses on offering natural healing stones to aid you on your life journey and The Alternative Tribe, a community of learners who are committed to their personal healing, growth and development. 

Carissa resides in Dallas, TX with her life partner Kristen and their 8 year-old daughter Khloe.
